An exhibition of the Decorative Folk Art Studio “Durbe” — “My folk costume”

09.06.2018 to 31.12.2018

On 9 June, at the Tukums Weavers’ Workshop (3 Tidaholmas Street, Tukums), the Decorative Folk Art Studio (DFAS) “Durbe” opened an exhibition “My folk costume” dedicated to the centenary of Latvia. The exhibit includes 13 sets of folk costumes from Tukums, Engure, Jaunpils and Kandava regions — they were made for the Tukums museum collection as a result of ethnographic research and diligent work.
The parts of the folk costumes have been made over a period of 35 years through research in the collections of Latvian National History Museum, Latvian Ethnographic Open-air Museum and other museums.
