Invitation to the Conference "Resort – cultural  and historical landscape and space", 15-17 June 2017, Jūrmala

History,  cultural  history,  architecture  and  urban  planning  experts,  as  well  as  tourism and museum professionals are invited to participate in the conference. The main aim of the conference  is  the  exchange  of  experience  between  researchers,  professionals  and institutions  involved  in  the  resort  of  cultural  and  historical  heritage in the use and research.

The conference will take place in Jūrmala that is the largest spa town on the shores of the Baltic Sea.

"It is a veritable oasis of natural healing and health that prides itself in an almost unbelievable concentration of natural resources in both the air and underground", Inga Sarma, Historian of Jūrmala City Museum and the conference coordinator, says."In fact, the entire Jūrmala area is a natural spa. People have been bathing in the mud and mineral water baths at Jūrmala’s spa houses, spa centres and sanatoriums for over 180  years".
