Ever since 1995, Narva has held Yevgeny Mravinsky International Music Festival. The Festival was founded to commemorate the stay of the brilliant composer of the 20th century Yevgeny Mravinsky in Narva and Narva-Joesuu. Over the years the Festival has been attended by the leading contemporary artists not only from Estonia, but also from Russia, Finland, Belgium, Belarus, Sweden, England, Germany, China, Norway, Lithuania and even from Australia and Ecuador. Symphonic, chamber and choral music concerts are performed by these artists in Ida-Virumaa cities and Tallinn. The Festival organisers are Narva Municipality Department of Culture and the Festival art director and Narva City Symphony Orchestra conductor Mr. Anatoli Shchura. The Festival programme includes concerts, conferences, exhibitions and meetings in the remaining Mravinsky house in Narva-Joesuu. Participation in Yevgeny Mravinsky Festival will allow you to get a glimpse of a true genius of the 20th century and to hear some of the outstanding musical performances by some of the remarkable artists of our generation.
