"School to Work" Conference in Stockholm - Register by 5 June
The Conference Flagship* “School to Work”: Collaboration for Improvements, that will take place on 19 June 2017 in Stockholm, will gather public institutions, municipalities, schools, civil society organizations working in the Baltic Sea Region to prevent early school leaving.
The participants will discuss e.g. how to integrate young people, who are neither in education, employment nor training, and also newly arrived refugees into the labour market.
The opening of the Conference will be presented by Jens Matthiessen, Representation of the European Commission in Sweden. Mr. Matthiessen is going to give the European Commission views on the importance of a transnational perspective in the fields of education, integration of NEET and newly arrived refugees.
After the opening there will be a panel discussion Latest Happenings in Areas of School to Work Transition and Integration of NEET in the Baltic Sea Region. The panel will be presented by experts in field of education, migration and inclusion from Finland, Lithuania and Sweden.
Two inspiring sessions will be held. One of them is Successful Methods of Integration and Prevention of Early School Leaving and NEET – a Short Odyssey from Skåne. Another one is going to look into digital solutions for live-stream mapping and a mobile application to empower people who have mental
and social issues. This session is going to present two pragmatic, practical and modern solutions that are applicable across countries to perform more effective and successful when working with your target groups.
* Flagships are development processes gathering stakeholders within macro-regions and based on multilevel governance. Actors representing local, regional and national levels, public, private, civil society, social partners and academia are in this flagship invited to three knowledge platforms with today six thematic working groups for joint development of new methods and policy recommendations.
