Investments welcome to Luleå!

The city of Luleå is open to investments and startups in all fields. The companies in Luleå are looking for new markets/partners in the Baltic Sea region.

Luleå Business & Economic Development is the mutual organization for the local business community, Luleå Municipality and Luleå University of Technology.  In 1997, on the initiative of the local business community, Luleå Business & Economic Development (Luleå Näringsliv AB) was founded. The local business community owns 51 percent and Luleå Municipality 49 percent of the company.

Open Hiiumaa

Hiiumaa Municipality is open to investments and startups in renewable energy, tourism (SPA), organic and eco sectors. There are also several office buildings that need renovation and investments to offer office space to exchange workers from main land or abroad.
The plastic sector companies are looking for new markets (ie Biobag). There is a local export adviser Ilmi Aksli in Foundation Tuuru (ilmi@tuuru.edu.ee).

Espoo - happy to share experiences and learn from others

The city of Espoo is an innovation hub. Its startup and growth companies are naturally open to investments.

 
The key sectors right now are IoT, AI, Smart Traffic, Smart Energy, Mobile gaming, Console gaming, Enterprise middleware, Mobility solutions, New and Advanced material technologies and Microelectronics.

Espoo tech companies are already doing business or co-development with Estonians. The cooperation with Latvia and Lithuania is currently much less active and that could be boosted and improved.

Liepāja open to investments

The city of Liepāja is open to investments and startups, especially in economy, youth, health, culture, environment sectors. There are two business incubators in the city, one of them is established by Latvian Investment Development Agency, the other is private.

The city has experiences in cultural, sport or education exchange with other BSR cities and is eager to develop it.

Liepāja can offer expertise in civic participation, sports, environment, city planning, safety.

Creative industries and small production are welcome to Cēsis

Cēsis encourages small business in creative industries and also small production (with less pollution).

The companies in the city look for markets not only in Baltic Sea region but lot of them – in the whole world. The municipality has its grant programme for small business that help establish and contribute to several dozen of new companies or products each year.

The cultural, sport and education institutions want to establish exchange with similar institutions in other UBC member cities.

Invest in Jõhvi

Jõhvi is open to investments and startups. The main sectors, where the biggest investments are exected, are: production, processing, logistics and also robotics. In addition, the growing sector is tourism.

Międzyzdroje develops tourist activities

Międzyzdroje is open for tourist investments, because the location in the buffer zone of the Wolinski National Park allows the municipality to primarily develop tourist activities.

Tourism is the main industry in the city, hence the entities providing tourist services are open to consumer markets. So far most numerous visitors come from Germany. The city is open for cooperation with the Baltic Sea countries.
