Unwanted architecture in Pruszcz Gdański and the Gdańsk district 1920-1956
The exhibition “Unwanted Architecture in Pruszcz Gdański and the Gdańsk District 1920-1956” shows the objects known to the inhabitants from a slightly different side – without diminishing their functions, the authors point to the important ideological context and the strong influence of totalitarianism on the architectural cultural heritage that surrounds us. And although each of these ideologies was guided by a similar goal, which was the complete subordination of citizens in every aspect of life, there is no doubt that the fascists and communists of the Stalinist period knew how to achieve these goals – also in architecture.
