The Kunstverein zu Rostock is a satellite location of the exhibition “REVIEW OSTSEE-BIENNALE” at the Kunsthalle Rostock . Works by five photographers from Norway and Germany are presented who artistically reflect the concept of “homeland”.

The Rostock Art Gallery reopened in 2023 after three years of extensive renovation. On this occasion, it turns to a theme that is anchored in its history: “
Being a place for the Biennale of the Baltic Sea Countries, Norway and Iceland,” which it was originally inaugurated to host in 1969. Designed as a public review with the participation of regional and international contemporary artists, the historic Rostock Biennale and the resulting centerpiece of the Kunsthalle Rostock collection are to be further processed and reflected on from a contemporary perspective.
