In February 2024, Cuca Roseta, the star of the new Portuguese fado generation, will return to Latvia with three concerts. The fado tradition has long been Portugal’s musical calling card, soulful music that speaks of sadness and longing. This genre of music is especially loved by Latvian listeners.

Cuca Rosetta is one of today’s most recognized and sought-after Portuguese fado performers. She is not just a beautiful voice. Her unique way of singing makes the audience hold their breath and touches the deepest strings of the soul. The singer herself says that she represents the new fado generation. This fado speaks of longing and melancholy in a slightly more “joyful” way. In the Portuguese language, there is even a special concept for this state of the soul – “saudades”.

The singer has released seven studio albums. The debut album “Cuca Roseta” was produced by the famous world music producer Gustavo Santaolalla, who received Grammy and Oscar awards. The next album “Riu” was produced by Brazilian master Nelson Motta. The success of this album was huge and paved the way for collaborations with legends such as Bryan Adams, Julio Iglesias, Javan, David Bisbal, Jorge Drexler, Ivan Lynn and many others.
