In the Valentine’s Day mood
Is there a more romantic instrument than the harp? We could certainly argue about this for a long time, but it cannot be denied that the harp fits perfectly into the Valentine’s Day mood. Polish Philharmonic Sinfonia Baltica Wojciech Kilar has prepared a concert not only for lovers – although it will certainly appeal to people who love music. That evening, a rarely performed work by the French composer Theodore Dubois, Fantaisie pour harpe et orchestra, will be performed in the Concert Hall . This work was published in 1903, at the very beginning of the 20th century, although it naturally contains features of the Romantic era. This fantasy is known by extremely beautiful and expressive themes that remain in the listener’s memory for a long time. Moreover, remaining in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, the orchestra will perform the Suite from the ballet Magic Love by Manuel de Falla and Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73 Johannes Brahms. The PFSB musicians will be led by Rafał Janiak , and the harp solo parts will be performed by the repeatedly appreciated and awarded Zuzanna Elster.
