Request for sharing experiences on design and use of the municipal ticketing and passenger information system

The City of Koszalin Municipality is planning to implement a project entitled “System sprzedaży biletów i informacji pasażerskiej dla Miasta Koszalina” (Ticketing and passenger information system for the City of Koszalin) including the purchase of the following components:

– free-standing poles with LED boards on both sides displaying arrival/departure times for public transport buses and information related to the availability of other means of transport (in particular urban cycling);
– retrofitting stops with e-paper timetable boards;
– installing green shelters known as “Zielone przystanki (green stops) with built-up walls and a roof allowing planting urban greenery; the shelters will be equipped with photovoltaic panels;
– purchasing fixed and mobile ticketing machines. 

Due to the above, the City would like to ask other members, whether the solutions described above (or similar) are in operation in their cities, and if so, they would like to ask them to share their experiences concerning their design and use. Koszalin will be grateful for any comments that may be useful for implementing the project, especially those concerning the functionality of the equipment to be purchased, its operation (especially in the field of green stops – e.g. related to the used plants and taking care of them or the use of photovoltaic panels) and maintenance (e.g. regarding maintenance costs, especially those related to the durability of the battery equipment or protecting the equipment against vandalism).

Due to the work schedule, the deadline for sending any initial observations, even if only general, is by 21-06-2024.
