Juli Wood from Chicago has established herself in her home country by performing and recording under her own name for decades. His musical roots are deep in African-American soil. Juli’s singing style is rootsy and bluesy, and her phone playing is refined but still raw and follows the hardbop tradition. In 2021, Juli Wood was awarded The Jazz Institute Of Chicago’s New Works, Fresh Voices award.
