It was the finest hour of one of the most successful bands from the glam rock era of the 1970s, one of those magical moments when everything seemed to fit and everything was about to change. «Sugar Baby Love» was released in January 1973 and made THE RUBETTES world stars. The song was a number one hit in Germany, France, Benelux and Great Britain – and also charted in the USA. Numerous other top 10 hits by the Rubettes followed across Europe, including Tonight, Juke Box Jive, I Can Do It and Foe-dee-oh-dee and Baby I Know – a country rock style ballad.
