Concert cycle “Sound Bridges”. Aleksandra Spitzberga and Atis Andersons
Sunday, April 19, at 8 p.m. At 17.00, the Straupe Church will host a concert of sacred music “Get up, my heart, and wake up!”, where the songs of the Baroque era will be encountered with the freedom of jazz improvisation.
In the program of the Baroque era and the spiritual music of the 20th century. Singer Aleksandrs Spitzbergs and jazz organist Atis Andersons offer listeners a new, original reading compositions created even several centuries ago. The characteristic manner of singing Alexandra, which harmoniously combines academic and folk traditions, echoes the handwriting of the Atis jazz musician, while the velvety timbre of voice is particularly beautifully revealed in the acoustics of the churches.
