The International Sculpture Symposium 2026, organized by the Kaunas Department of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association will take place in Kaunas, Lithuania, from 17 August to 13September 2026, and will bring together 15 sculptors from different countries to create monumental granite sculptures in the city’s public spaces.
The theme of the 2026 symposium is Kaunas Modernism – “Architecture of Optimism”, recently included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Artists are invited to submit proposals that creatively interpret the heritage of Kaunas Modernism and offer contemporary perspectives on its architectural and cultural identity.
Selected participants will receive:
- 2 cubic meters of granite
- All necessary materials and tools
- Full technical support
- Accommodation and catering
- An artist honorarium of €8,000

Applications will be reviewed by an expert jury according to creativity, feasibility, and thematic relevance.
