On 5 May, Russia launched attacks with guided aerial bombs on Ukraine including UBC associated cities of Zaporizhzhia and Kramatorsk.
In Zaporizhzhia, 12 people were killed and 43 others were injured. The strikes hit several enterprises, an automobile repair shop, car washes, vehicles, a store, and nearby residential buildings.
In Kramatorsk, 5 people were killed in a strike on the city center, and 13 others were injured. The attack also damaged apartment buildings and vehicles, while parts of the city were left without electricity.
The attacked facilities had no military significance.
The attacks came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Monday a unilateral ceasefire in the war with Russia, starting at midnight between Tuesday and Wednesday. A truce was also announced by the Russian side on the same day, declaring a two-day ceasefire in the war with Ukraine to be observed on 8 and 9 May.
UBC strongly condemns such inhuman attacks and extends its sincere condolences to the victims’ families.
