As part of the 2026 Sopot Jazz Festival, the Mamuszki 14 stage will be filled with a sonic tale of freedom and mutual trust. We’re treated to a unique, expanded version of the Maciej Obara Quartet, featuring Norwegian trumpeter Mathias Eick. Maciej Obara (alto saxophone) and Dominik Wania (piano) are a duo that has been pushing the boundaries of Polish jazz for years. Together with the Norwegian rhythm section – Ole Morten Vågan and Gard Nilssen – they created an extraordinary quartet. Now, this lineup opens a new chapter. The addition of Mathias Eick, one of the most lyrical voices of the European trumpet, is not just a change of instrumentation; it also brings a new quality and expansion to the band’s sonic universe.
