Sustainable Bioenergy Heating – Market Development and Technologies training

UBC Cities are invited to participate in international training seminar on sustainable bioenergy heating will take place from 14 to 17 September 2026 in Linz, Austria. The event, titled Sustainable Bioenergy Heating – Market Development and Technologies, is organised by the OÖ Energiesparverband (ESV), the regional energy agency of Upper Austria and a partner of the Prospect project.

The seminar will present how clean and user‑friendly bioenergy solutions can support local energy transitions. The programme focuses on small- and medium‑scale heating projects using wood pellets and wood chips. Participants will receive technical, economic and market-related insights, combined with practical sessions and site visits.

Through cooperation with the PROSPECT project, representatives of public-sector institutions—including local and regional authorities and energy agencies from EU Member States and other countries participating in the LIFE programme—may apply for free participation. Additional financial support for travel and accommodation of up to 500 euros is also available.

The three-day programme includes interactive training, expert-led sessions, and visits to operational bioheat installations. All activities will be conducted in English.

The seminar begins on 14 September at 17:00 and concludes on 17 September after dinner. Registration is open until 1 September 2026, with limited places available. Interested participants are asked to register online and indicate their interest in Prospect support in the comment field.
