Deadline for sending stories to the Bulletin is 16 October 2024.
Theme of the Bulletin: “Baltic Sea cities implementing European Youth Goals”.
The 11 European Youth Goals summarise the issues that affect young people in Europe and the political priorities that are important to them. The Youth Goals have been included in the EU Youth Strategy and show in which areas change still needs to happen so that young people in Europe can use their full potential.
Public authorities of the Baltic Sea Region (and UBC cities in particular) have been more and more focused on implementation of inclusive and empowering youth policies. Therefore, the time has come to have a thorough look into how young people of the region are doing in the post-pandemic time overshadowed by international conflicts, as well as to explore structures and services cities have developed to support them.
The autumn 2024 issue of the Baltic Cities Bulletin will focus on domains of mental health and well-being of young people, inclusivity & diversity, youth participation, and other policy areas covered by European youth Goals.
Join the knowledge and experience exchange with your peers by sending stories along the following themes and beyond:
- Developing sustainable solutions for improvement of young people’s mental health and well-being;
- Empowering young people to become agents of change in the cities and ensuring meaningful youth participation;
- Cherishing youth organisations, youth clubs and youth subcultures;
- Devising tailor-made support measures for youth with fewer opportunities and young people at risk;
- Fostering employability of young people and promoting youth entrepreneurship;
- Designing youth-friendly spaces in the cities;
- Creating opportunities for intergenerational dialogue.
Young people of the UBC member cities are also encouraged to contribute to the issue with their own articles thus providing youth perspective to the urban trends.
Stories to City News are also very welcome.
Please deliver the story by e-mail to jakub.rybicki@ubc.net in MS WORD format by 16 October 2024.
