Dolina Charlotty has for years remained an active partner of the Union of the Baltic Cities (UBC). Building upon this long-standing relationship and our shared commitment to the development of the Baltic Sea Region, the first Charlotta Bali Spirit Festival will take place from August 5–8, 2026.
Historical Foundation and Experience
The projct is built on the solid foundation of our existing cooperation. Reflecting on our shared history:
- In 2015 Dolina Charlotty organized the UBC Charlotta Rock Festival and the Charlotta BBQ Festival.
- In November 2025, Dolina Charlotty hosted the UBC General Conference.
A New Bridge of Cooperation: UBC – ASEF – ASEAN
The Charlotta Bali Spirit Festival 2026 is another initiative aimed at elevating the cooperation between UBC member cities to a higher level and opening a new platform for dialogue with cities in ASEAN member states.
ASEF (Asia-Europe Foundation) will be the partner of the event. ASEF is the only permanent institution established within the ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) framework. Founded in 1997 in Singapore, this intergovernmental non-profit foundation aims to:
- Promote mutual relations and cooperation between the peoples of Asia and Europe;
- Strengthen interregional ties across both continents;
- Act as an interface between civil societies.
ASEF’s vision is for Asians and Europeans to jointly shape the future in a spirit of respect, justice, and sustainability. The foundation’s mission serves as a crucial complement to the ASEM process, enabling both sides to exchange ideas and develop innovative solutions for contemporary global challenges.
Characteristics and Values of ASEF
The foundation bases its activities on pillars such as accountability, professionalism, the promotion of knowledge, and the sharing of experience. Sustainable development (social, economic, and environmental) is of key importance, as is building relations based on equality, tolerance, empathy, and understanding. The organization reflects immense diversity, uniting 51 Asian and European countries alongside two key regional organizations: ASEAN and the European Union.
Given that ASEF members include both ASEAN states and European countries (including the EU), this cooperation is unique and multilateral. The ASEF leadership, recognizing Dolina Charlotty’s achievements in these fields, has expressed strong interest in establishing direct cooperation with the Union of the Baltic Cities.
Dolina Charlotty offers a space – the Bali Indah complex, which has the potential to become a launching point for wide-ranging efforts toward the integration of European and Asian communities. ASEF places particular emphasis on the younger generation, believing that they should lead the way in integration and collective development to shape future intercontinental relations.
