Projects

Creative Ports

The Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) represent a leading opportunity area of the Baltic Sea Region (BSR). With strong emphasis on innovation it has a significant ability to solve problems through utilization of creative working methods. This potential needs to be strengthened to create a spillover effect into other sectors.

Pursuant to the EU Innovation Union Scoreboard 2015 however there is an unbalanced development within the BSR. Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Germany are categorized as Innovation leaders, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland are seen as Moderate Innovators respectively.

CREATIVE PORTS aims at establishing the institutionalized macro-regional space for non-technological innovation in the entire BSR, facilitated by increased business sophistication of the CCI actors and their interactions with the policy-making level. The change achieved by the project will benefit the Region by increasing number of highly needed innovations making the Region more competitive.

Internationalisation of the Cultural and Creative Industries

The Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) have a profound effect on the everyday life of people around the world. Whilst offering tremendous intangible value, the CCI sector has a significant impact on a social, cultural and economic level. The sector provides employment and substantial economic opportunities for cities and regions.

A strong and sustainable internationalisation of CCIs in the Baltic Sea region is the goal of 14 partners from 8 countries, striving to facilitate change together. By bringing together a multitude of actors such as incubators, cultural institutes, public authorities and NGOs, we can bundle competencies, create synergies, and raise the capacities of CCI actors.

We work jointly and with passion, to empower the CCI intermediaries in the region. We believe that their contribution to a European identity is fundamental to intercultural exchange and social cohesion and is a key factor in improving the quality of life of millions.
Our collaboration in Creative Ports aims to unlock the international potential of CCI actors in the Baltic Sea region and elevate their activities beyond their borders to become more resilient on the global stage.
