Kiel 2019: a milestone for Zero Waste Cities in Germany

The UBC member cities are invited to join the international conference “Kiel 2019: a milestone for Zero Waste Cities in Germany” that will be held on 29 March 2019.

The Zero Waste Cities approach is the continuous effort to phase out waste, not by burning or landfilling it, but by creating and implementing systems that prevent it in the first place. Since 2007, 400 municipalities have joined the movement and achieved great results!
This event aims to provide an European overview of what Zero Waste strategies mean in practice. It will cover some exemplary initiatives in terms of decentralised composting and reuse strategies at the municipal level, as well as waste prevention with families and PAYT (Pay As You Throw) to inspire regions and cities in their transition to Zero Waste.

Check out the programme and register on the dedicated website or contact Zero Waste Kiel e.V.

Zero Waste Europe co-organises this conference with Zero Waste Kiel e.V.

The conference will be held at the IHK (Bergstr. 2) in Kiel, Germany, from 9:30 to 17:30.
