UBC Strategy Coordinator Mikko Lohikoski retires from the City of Turku’s service

After fifteen years in the City of Turku’s service, UBC Strategy Coordinator Mikko Lohikoski resigns at the end of September from his post as a Director and Senior adviser to the Mayor of Turku, after having reached the uppermost age limit of a civil servant.

Mikko Lohikoski will most likely continue to work for Turku and the Baltic Sea region in a new role to be specified.

– During these years, we have jointly travelled a Iong and fruitful journey. UBC has grown, become more mature and appreciated partner in regional cooperation. Through cooperation, we have been able to promote well-being of our citizens and improve the environment – on land and sea, Mikko Lohikoski says.
– After the renewal process carried out during last years, our UBC is in stronger position to meet new challenges and work for the benefit of our citizens and the region. The European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region offers an excellent framework for this, he continues.
Concerning UBC, Mikko Lohikoski’s future engagement will depend on the needs of the UBC and on discussions with the President and the Executive Board. Mikko Lohikoski’s contact addresses will remain the same: +358 50 5590 238, mikko.lohikoski(at)
