The 80th Greifswald Bach Week, from June 1st to 7th, 2026, is Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s most traditional music festival and will celebrate its anniversary. Since its founding in 1946, this festival of sacred music has taken place annually – even the COVID-19 pandemic has not interrupted the continuous flow of the Greifswald Bach Weeks. The motto “BACH infinitum” – the unlimited – emphasizes both the unbroken continuity of previous Bach Weeks and the boundless dimensions of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music. The possibilities for approaching Bach’s music, interpreting it, adapting it, experiencing it spiritually, explaining it, or combining it with music of diverse origins and styles are virtually endless.
