AALTO – work and life

The permanent exhibition of the Alvar Aalto Museum takes a deeper look at the architect’s work and design process. The common thread of the exhibition is Aalto’s optimistic idea that architecture and good design can solve the problems of human life and society, in Aalto’s words “problems”. The significance of Alvar and Aino Aalto in the history of Finnish design unfolds in parallel with architecture. The exhibition relies on the power of the genuine and authentic – architectural drawings, scale models and design objects. Architect Asmo Jaaksi (JKMM Arkkitehdit Oy) is responsible for the exhibition architecture and Tiina Ekosaari for the graphic design. The exhibition has been supported by Alva, Artek and the Saastamoinen Foundation.
