Exhibition at Wiedemann’s house, “Common Landscape”
The paintings of Eugeniusz Dzierzencki (1905-1990), from seaside views to Kashubia, the Carpathians, and finally the Sopot area, are somehow similar to each other.
Nothing in this painting demands attention or commentary. The serenity of the views is aesthetically soothing and builds bridges between the indifferent present and the artist’s sensitivity to nature and its ongoing changes.
“Common Landscape” is a tribute to the work of Dzierzencki, whose achievements were often overlooked in the history of painting in the first half of the 20th century. Today, this is no longer the case, and his works have been present on the auction market for years.
