International Festival of Religious Music
The Festival includes three competitions:
- Organ Music Competition – for young organists up to 27 years of age,
- Choral Ensembles Competition – in two judging categories (choral ensembles and chamber ensembles),
- Competition for the best performance of a religious song in Kashubian.
The festival gives the opportunity to compare the artistic achievements of choirs and organists, is a platform for the exchange of experiences between participants in the field of presented works, especially their interpretation, and, through its regulatory assumptions, is an effective promoter of the music of Polish composers, which is particularly important in the case of foreign performers.
The experience from previous editions of the Festival clearly indicates the promotional nature of the event, also in relation to the performing choral groups and young organists, for whom the laurels of the Rum Festival have become a ticket to becoming known in the broadly understood music world. In the previous editions of the Festival, participants from Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Ukraine and the USA took part in the competitions.
