Karen Mukupa is back and she is with a bomb of an album. The singer turned 50 this year, but that in no way means that she has finished making music. On the contrary, she is current with her most personal album, which clearly showcases a rapper and singer who still has a lot to offer.

The album, Bonobo, has something for both those who remember when hip-hop was underground culture in the 90s and those who got to know Karen Mukupa on Natasja’s hit “Til Banken” featuring Tessa from 2020. The album’s ten songs are topped with soulful touches and R&B rhythms, produced by Ezi Cut (Outlandish, Jokeren, Burhan G) and mastered by Soulshock, who share Mukupa’s musical early-90s hip-hop roots.
