Mozart. Requiem

2024-10-31

On the eve of All Souls’ Day, the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Risto Joost, will bring the Requiem, the last major form of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, to the audience. The motet “Ave verum corpus” written by Mozart in 1791 will also be heard at the concert. The composer, seriously ill at the time of receiving the commission for the requiem, began composing it at the end of 1791, but died before the work could be completed, so his student completed the work.
