The musical “Aida” by Sir Elton John and Tim Rice, which has conquered the stages of more than 25 countries, was staged in the Kaunas State Music Theater for the first time in the Baltic States. Tickets for the premiere performances of the musical were sold out instantly, which proves that the audience knows what they are choosing, because it is E. John’s music determines the popularity of “Aida” musical. The musical “Aida” is based on the same famous classic story as G. Verdi’s opera “Aida” – about the eternal, timeless connection between the enslaved Nubian princess Aida and the Egyptian soldier Radames, who is in love with the Egyptian princess Amner. Aida and Radames are from different lands drowned in fierce wars, so when love flares up, they are forced to part forever or face death.
