Hélène is almost forty years old. She has made a career, got married, had two daughters and lives in an architect’s house near Nancy. She has fulfilled the dream of her youth: escape, change milieu, be successful. Christophe, on the other hand, never left the small town in eastern France where he and Hélène grew up. He sells dog food and leads an indecisive little life. Until he meets Hélène again.
Nicolas Mathieu was born in 1978 in Épinal and lives in Nancy. He has been working as a writer since 2014. He won the Prix Goncourt in 2018 with his second novel »How Later Your Children«. In 2020 he published the novel »Rose Royal« and most recently his novel »Connemara« (2022).
