In the new production,  Jānis Lūsēns  and  Māras Zālīte’s  rock opera  SPHINXA  is revived – a musical story about the suggestive fate of the famous seer Eugene Fink. Fink was one of the most unusual and mysterious personalities in 20th century Latvia. The libretto is based on real events, the acting characters are also real people – Fink’s wife Anna, his temporary passion Alice, robber and murderer Anša Kaupēna’s fiancee Vallija, Latvian press queen Emīlija Benjamiņa and many others. Fink is also called Nostradamus of Latvia – he predicted the death of the first president of Latvia, Jānis Čakste, the tragic fate of Benjaminas, as well as accurately predicted the year, month, day and hour of his death.
