Spotlight conversation on Klaipeda European Youth Capital 2021
KLAIPEDA IN THE SPOTLIGHT
UBC Youthful Cities Commission invites you to the very first SPOTLIGHT conversation with the European Youth Capital 2021 – Klaipeda, on the 2nd March at 3 p.m. CET on Facebook LIVE.
Klaipeda’s team represented by Agnė Mikniūtė ( #chooseklaipeda Ambassadors’ and Klaipeda’s Youth Forum coordinator) and Aleksandra Lobaškova (#chooseklaipeda Partnership and External Affairs Coordinator) will share their experience in holding the title of the European Youth Capital last year: What motivated them to compete, what were the main challenges, gains and results of being the Youth Capital? How did the young people participate in the programme and did holding the title change Klaipeda for the future? But most importantly…was it all worth it?
#chooseklaipeda implemented 130 different youth-oriented activities (trainings, discussions, seminars, camps, conferences, festivals and concerts, forums, etc.) that brought together 86 thousand local, national and international participants throughout 2021. What is more, some of the initiatives piloted during the EYC year, such as Lithuanian Youth Capital, Klaipeda’s Youth Forum, experimental openness and culture incubator, as well as participatory budget for pupils, will be continued after the project is officially over.
Throughout this year SPOTLIGHT conversations will give UBC member cities an opportunity to share their experience in youth work – challenges, success stories, new discoveries and aha moments.
