The Jyväskylä Dance Festival invites us to encounter each other with curiosity and gentleness through art. At the festival you can experience impressive works and get to know artists working in diverse environments, locally and internationally.

Many of the performances to be experienced at the festival draw their creative power from the bodily transformations one experiences in the course of their life. The works skilfully explore the meanings and feelings associated with identity, gender, sexuality, ability and age. The contents, as well as the ways of making art, are both communal and highly personal.
