Mayor Paweł Adamowicz Award – 6th edition

Nominations for the sixth edition of the Mayor Paweł Adamowicz Award (MPAA) are hereby invited.

The Award was established jointly by the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), the International Cities of Refuge Network (ICORN), and the City of Gdańsk. It honours courage and excellence in promoting freedom, solidarity, and equality – values that the late Mayor Paweł Adamowicz deeply cherished.

This year marks the sixth edition of the Award. The inaugural laureate was Henriette Reker, Lord Mayor of Cologne. The second edition honoured the City of Michałowo (Poland). In 2023, the Award was presented to the Local Democracy Agency Zavidovići (Bosnia and Herzegovina). In 2024, it was awarded to the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, and the fifth edition laureate was Ekrem İmamoğlu, long-serving Mayor of Istanbul.

The deadline for submitting nominations: 31 October 2026.
