The Annual Forum of the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) is a major event that brings together policymakers, stakeholders and experts from across the BSR. 14th edition of the Forum will be held in Riga on 4-5 October 2023. The event is organized jointly by the Riga City Council, Union of the Baltic Cities and VASAB, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia and the Baltic Sea Strategy Point. The Forum organization is financed by Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme. UBC is a project partner with the budget of 15.000 €.
This year on 4-5 October 2023 the 14th edition of the EUSBSR Annual Forum will cover the topic of Safe and Sustainable Baltic Sea Region for Future Generations. Special attention will be paid to the climate affairs and green energy. And since the main agents of change and progress are young people, a strong focus on the importance of youth engagement in decision making will be placed and a strong youth representation will take active part in the event.
UBC, through its antenna in Brussels, will organize and moderate a workshop “Youth empowerment 2.0 in the 21st century – trends and policy solutions” on 5 October 2023. The policy workshop aims to explore the opportunities and challenges faced by young people in the 21st century and to identify policy and ICT solutions that can empower and enable them to shape a better future for themselves and for society as a whole.
