Resilience Through Education

UBC Learning Cities Commission arranged UBC Baltic Sea Region Education Conference and Study Visit in Stockholm on 7-8 October 2025 together with the EUSBSR Flagship project School to Work. The theme of the event was Resilience Through Education.

Both conference and study visit focused on supporting and developing physical, mental, emotional and social resilience through education in individual (teachers, students etc.) and organizational level. Under these themes participants discussed subjects such as safety at schools, mental health, critical thinking, segregation, support and guidance of NEETs and early school leavers etc.

The program included keynote presentations, panel discussions and workshops. The objective of the conference as well as the study visits was to share best practices and knowledge, and to bring together education experts and decision-makers from different countries.

Conference’s 12 workshops held by different Commission partner cities covered themes such as safety at schools, well-being at school, gender and inclusion in STEAM education, motivation, digital literacy and critical thinking, active citizenship and pathways to school success.

During the study visit participants visited Rålambshovsskolan, Stockholms hotel- och restaurangsskola and ESS Upper secondary school.

Stockholm’s conference was the third UBC Baltic Sea Region Education Conference and it attracted to Stockholm 84 participants.

The first UBC BSR Education Conference was held in Turku in 2023 and the second one in Riga last year.
