The Harbour city is Ystad’s largest urban development project in modern times. Plans to develop the port area in Ystad have existed for several decades.

The vision for the Harbour city is that the area will become a natural part of the city center and connect the city closer to the sea. Innovation and sustainability are of course a matter in everyday life and in the living environment in the Harbour city. The old industrial area will be filled with city life and activity.

The urban plan contains approximately 1,500 new housing, but also businesses, restaurants, cafées and culture activities. Fully developed, the Harbour city could contribute to Ystad gaining 10% more in population.
