The new UBC Cultural Cities Commission invites to its first meeting held in connection with the International Conference CULTURAL AND CREATIVE CROSSOVERS: Partnering culture with other sectors to maximize creativity, growth and innovation.
The conference will take place on 11-12 March 2015 in the National Library of Latvia, Riga.
"The Latvian presidency is looking for ways to raise the awareness of culture as a driving force for innovation, growth, sustainability and social inclusion", Sandis Voldiņš, State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia says. "The Conference is aiming to promote, highlight and encourage cultural and creative crossovers as an input for development of education, research, economy, technologies, heritage, social innovation and other sectors".
During the two day Conference, beginning on March 11, well-recognized experts will give an insight into the newest trends and developments, and participants will discuss policies and best practice cases in a truly interactive and reflective environment.
The Conference will take place in the framework of the annual Creativity Week “Radi!” (Create) - a long-lasting tradition to promote creative thinking in various sectors and platforms. The outcome of the Conference will be directed to a higher policy level.
