Baltic Pass - Maritime Heritage Tours

Discover the Baltic Sea on the sailing ship sounds like an idea of the Baltic Pass - Maritime Heritage Tours project run by the Gdańsk Sport Centre.

The project, co-financed from the Interreg South Baltic, aims at creating sailing paths, taking into account maritime heritage of the whole South Baltic region and combining sailing with visiting attractive places on the southern shores of the Baltic Sea.
It involves five project partners, from Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Poland and Lithuania as well as ten associated partners covering all five programme countries.

The project’s activities are planned in work packages dedicated to:

  • Developing new touristic products
  • Testing of the created products by the partners’ vessels. The partners will recruit participants for testing cruises from the potential target groups: youngsters, representatives of business, tourists etc. Each cruise will be evaluated. After the testing phase, the created product will be evaluated and amended in a way to meet the requirements and expectations of both tourists and tour operators. Additionally, the products will be enriched by examples of sail plans dedicated to different tourist groups like youngsters, business etc.
  • Promotion of the Baltic Maritime Heritage Tours product. The project promotion strategy will be prepared by project partners. Project result is to increase tourism attractiveness of South Baltic region by creating and developing a new eco-friendly tourist product based on historical Baltic trade routes (regional and international).

The project involves such sailing ships as "Generał Zaruski" (Gdańsk), Lithuanian "Brabander" and Swedish "Sarpen".
