Inclusive and Healthy Cities Commission meeting

09.10.2017 - 09:00 to 10.10.2017 - 20:00

Save the date for the Conference and the meeting of the Inclusive and Healthy Cities!

On 28 September 2016 Gdynia self-government made a decision to initiate an intergenerational dialogue. The idea behind it is to build a city open to citizens of all ages – a city that recognizes the needs, potential and prospects of people creating a local community at every stage of their life.

Connecting generations

In this way the line of thinking about developing separate policies for each generation of citizens has changed and a new chapter on connecting generations, creating platforms for dialogue and codeciding about the vision of the city has began.

  • How do different generations affect each other?
  • How to organise a city, its services and space so that a joint, intergenerational engagement in work, developing one’s passions and supporting each other is possible?
  • How to facilitate the recreation of intergenerational ties destroyed by the modern style of living?
  • Is it possible for a city to guarantee an equal access to decision making processes, information and resources for all generations?
  • How to break stereotypes and replace them with facts related to life at different stages?
  • How to take care of healthy and safe conditions of a life together and common development?

The event is a chance to collectively seek answers to those and many other questions. The current undertakings implemented within the Gdynia Intergenerational Dialogue framework will be discussed, findings will be presented.  Comments are more than welcome!
