Euro-Atlantic Dominion Maris Baltici Multidimensional Security Threats in the Baltic Sea Basin round table will take place in Gdańsk, New Town Hall, 1 December 2026.
The Baltic Sea region has become a central frontline of hybrid and conventional security challenges following Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. With Finland and Sweden joining NATO and regional cooperation intensifying, the need for coordinated, practical responses to both hard and soft security threats has never been greater.
To strengthen this cooperation, the College of Eastern Europe (KEW), together with partners from Gdańsk, the Union of the Baltic Cities, Lithuania, and Poland, is launching a Baltic round table on soft and hard security. The first edition will take place in Gdańsk.
The seminar will gather 25–30 experts from the Nordic and Baltic states, Poland, and Ukraine—military professionals, diplomats, local government representatives, scholars, and NGO leaders. Ukrainian participants will share firsthand experience in countering hybrid and kinetic attacks.
Discussions will highlight practical solutions for governments, institutions, and civil society, with special attention to non‑kinetic threats such as disinformation, cognitive warfare, sabotage, and critical infrastructure vulnerabilities.
Outcomes will be published as a policy paper, accompanied by interviews, podcasts, and a public debate at the University of Gdańsk. The long-term goal is to enhance regional coordination and strengthen bottom‑up resilience models across the Baltic Sea basin.
