Osiecka’s retro guitars with Krajewski – Agnieszka’s 90th birthday
We invite you to a unique, intimate concert by the band Retro Gitary, dedicated to the work of Agnieszka Osiecka and Seweryn Krajewski. The event, “Osiecka with Krajewski – Agnieszka’s 90th Birthday,” is a musical journey through lyrics and melodies that have become a permanent part of Polish song history.
Agnieszka Osiecka – a poet, lyricist, and exceptional observer of life – was born on October 9, 1936. Had she lived, she would have celebrated her 90th birthday this year. This is a perfect opportunity to celebrate her work, her sensitivity, and her enormous influence on Polish culture. Throughout her life, Osiecka searched for a great love, which often appeared and disappeared, leaving its mark on her incredibly tender and contradictory work. It is this sensitivity that makes her lyrics so moving to this day and a mirror of our emotions. The unique combination of her words with Seweryn Krajewski’s music has resulted in iconic songs such as “Niech żywo bal” (Long Live the Ball), “Uciekaj moje serce” (Runaway My Heart), “Lullaby for a Crumb,” and “Nie spoczeniemy” (We Will Not Rest). Alongside these, there are many lesser-known but equally beautiful and moving songs.
