Romantic Finnish evening

The great romantic violin concertos have been loved by concertgoers all over the world ever since they were first performed. One of the most played is Sibelius’ violin concerto with its unique Nordic world of sound and mind-boggling technical difficulties. Finnish violinist Elina Vähälä knows her Sibelius like few others.

As an introduction, we hear the symphonic poem Tuonela’s Swan, inspired by the Finnish national epic Kalevala.
