The 92nd UBC Executive Board meeting is hosted by the City of Riga.
UBC President Mantas Jurgutis opened the meeting. Linda Ozola, Deputy Chair of Riga City Council, welcomed the participants and presented the City.
On the agenda of the meeting there are: proposal from the Youthful Cities Commission to establish the UBC Youth Board, information from the commissions on current activities, 3rd UN Ocean Conference 2025 in Nice, France, 9-13 June 2025.
Help for Ukraine has been continuously high on the UBC Agenda. UBC has been accepted as an associate partner of the European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the Reconstruction of Ukraine. The Task Force to discuss Ukrainian cities membership and participation in UBC was established at the recent General Conference in Palanga, October 2023. At the Executive Board meeting in Riga, the action plan of the Task Force and its planned activities have been presented.
UBC has also accepted Ukrainian cities: Rubizhne and Chernihivka as Associated Cities and Rivne Oblast as Partner.
Participants of the Executive Board meeting will also have an opportunity to participate in thematic study visits devoted to the topics: Business environment/investment, urban environment and mobility area, Startups, bio medicine. A visit in the Riga support center for Ukrainian residents is also in the programme.
